She not only taught me the correct way to lift, but she also taught me patience. She taught me that life doesn’t have to be hard and painful and that Taking care of our bodies physically, rolls over into our mental Health- and that they go hand and hand. No one has ever made me look at the two and really understand the bond between mental and physical health. This changed my life. Vanessa has a wonderful way of communicating with her people so that every word resonates and you never forget what’s said. She’s passionate about her work and it truly shows.
She has given me the greatest gift that a coach can give, and that is knowledge. I will take her teachings with me wherever I go. She’s absolutely amazing.

After years of years of skateboarding, hard work, the military, and terrible lifting and workout habits my back finally gave up. After years of no self care and finally a terrible CrossFit coach, I suffered 2 significant back strains/ injuries that comprised my overall health and daily joy of life. Being a firefighter you rely on your back more than we realize and being a father of 3, more than we care to! Chiropractors and massage therapy for 2 years showed no real improvement. Working through the pain and honestly was searching for a new career due to pain. I had given up. After 4 years of feeling like a rusted out auto body in a field of weeds, Coach Vanessa and I crossed paths and I was given a last ditch effort to save my health and career. As skeptical as I was, I gave it my best effort, and so did she. Coach found my issues and developed my plan to recovery! In 2 short years, I can now walk, work, skate, run, and most importantly work pain free. I believe that self care, yoga, stretching, warm up and proper lifting can make a 47 year old body feel at least 41! Thank you for your patience, professionalism, and compassion!

Vanessa does not only invest time but she invests emotion in her teaching. Two years training under Vanessa has not only taken my training light years ahead but it has completely changed the way I think. Vanessa has broken down anything and everything that I’ve asked. She focuses on more than just the things that look good. She prioritizes health and movement over everything. She teaches instead of just writing down a workout. There’s an emphasis behind moving well inside and outside of the gym. She makes me love showing up to the gym and following her program. Thankful for having such a special teacher/trainer.

I have been working with Vanessa for five and a half years now, and she has significantly improved my quality of life in multiple ways. Her expertise and dedication have been instrumental in helping me manage my chronic pain and regain my strength and fitness.
For a long time, I was worried that I would need surgery or medical interventions to fix my lower back pain. However, Vanessa's approach to training and her deep understanding of how the body is supposed to move have been nothing short of miraculous. She adjusted my movements and introduced appropriate exercises that alleviated my pain and improved my mobility.
Vanessa's support was particularly invaluable as I navigated the challenges of being a postpartum firefighter struggling to regain my strength and fitness. She created personalized plans that not only helped me recover but also made me stronger and improved my cardiovascular fitness. Her knowledge and tailored approach were exactly what I needed during this critical time.
What truly sets Vanessa apart is her unwavering positivity and ability to motivate you, even when you feel like you have nothing left in the tank. Her encouragement and belief in my abilities have been a constant source of inspiration.
I would highly recommend Vanessa to anyone seeking a trainer. Her wealth of knowledge, personalized approach, and positive attitude make her an exceptional trainer. Thank you, Vanessa, for everything you’ve done to help me improve my quality of life

When I began, I was 270lbs, pre-diabetic, in constant pain, unable to sleep flat, sonorous while awake, and unhappy.
I was a burnt out, maladjusted person, stagnated in a pattern that saw me stand by while my health, both physical and mental, spiraled into an uncontrolled descent that made looking in a mirror a burdensome daily task. I saw a grotesque coating over a once happy, healthy, proud collegiate athlete. I was less ashamed of my weight, and more ashamed of how I felt. My back hurt; daily etodolac pills for arthritis in my lower back were barely enough to keep me moving. My pride was gone; the mirth of confidence and self efficacy long forgotten. I developed heartburn, and was so bent outside my norm, I thought the burning behind my sternum was just a sign of normal aging.
Vanessa pushed me. But not in a way I had been pushed before. She had goals, small, specific goals for my workouts, my diets, my daily routines. Not what you would think, but micro changes that gave me a victory in each facet of my day. She taught me to forgive myself when I lapsed, or when I needed a moment to recover. She taught me to work out for a healthy body, free of constant pain and uncomfortable positioning, not just strength. Vanessa taught me that going home and being happy was a possibility if I could just change my behavior and habits in minute, almost unnoticeable ways, slowly turning the ship of my health to a positive outcome.
I began on July 17th, 2017. By January 1st, 2018, I was 218 lbs, free of pain, off medications for both arthritis and heartburn, and waking up was fun again. Work was fun again.
Vanessa's drive and commitment to my improvement were flattering, but it was not for me. Vanessa strives for excellence in everything. I was a component in a job she takes as a calling. This does not mean my success was not important to Vanessa, quite the opposite, Vanessa takes her profession, her calling, so seriously, she freely, willingly, and immediately attaches herself to each component personally. I strive for success in my daily life. Some of the best, most excellent people I know strive for success in their daily lives. Vanessa engrains success into her DNA, attaching her livelihood to her desire and need to improve the quality of life around her and beyond. The amount of gratitude I have for that is unbearably understated.

I first met Vanessa after completing U.S. Army Ranger School. Having lost 40 pounds and most of my strength over the previous two months due to sleep and food deprivation, I thought it would be a good idea to get back into the gym. Vanessa, after watching my terrible Olympic lifting technique graciously offered to help me become a better athlete. Over the course of the next two months, not only did I gain all of my weight back, I emerged stronger than I had ever been in my life after one cycle of her programming.
The spring marks the onset of my next goal, U.S Army Special Forces. Vanessa has proved her adaptability and large base of strength and conditioning knowledge through creating a program that enhances my speed, power and strength simultaneously. I feel more than prepared for the grueling assessment process that is designed to, physically and mentally, bring any tactical athlete to their breaking point. Whether your goal is to run a marathon, compete in the American Open, or embark on a healthy and rewarding lifestyle dedicated to fitness, Vanessa Frost is your best option. Not only will she work with you and adapt to your needs, throughout the process she will make you a better person than you started.

You might be ready for 1:1 coaching if you're looking to increase efficiency of efforts to achieve better results, are committed to making a change (regardless of how big), and are wanting some accountability to do that.
A training program focuses mainly on the MOVEMENT pillar of health & performance, and although we always offer alternatives and education through our training programs, the level in individualization, feedback, and accountability are on an entirely different level within 1:1 coaching.
1:1 remote coaching requires a minimum of a 26 week commitment, which is about months. Although benefits of coaching can be seen on a shorter timeline, Coach Vanessa enjoys helping people through longer training periods, helping people learn how to build their health & performance habits through different phases of life.
1:1 coaching rates differ based on length of commitment, (24 or 52 weeks) but you can expect between $344 - $428 per 4 weeks, well within the industry standard for evidence-based, comprehensive health & performance coaching. Based on your current needs, commitment levels, and budget, we understand this may seem like a bargain for some, while others may need to hold off until a later date.
We've partner with Truemed in order to provide the necessary documentation (letter of medical necessity) which allows coaching & programs purchased from Coach Vanessa to qualify for reimbursement.
As a 1:1 Remote Client, Vanessa will cover the fee associated with obtaining the required documentation through Truemed either via refund or credit to next billing cycle.

No, there are normally no regularly scheduled coaching calls.
Managing a shift schedule is hard enough, so no need to manage scheduling a weekly call. As a 1:1 remote client, you have constant communication with Coach Vanessa via the training app, which allows for text, voice memos, and video messages. There are weekly checkins, which will be responded to in a method that you prefer (text, voice, or video).
On occasion, Vanessa will request to schedule a call if there's something specific that needs more "face to face" discussion.
At this time, Coach Vanessa does not offer in-person training outside of sessions conducted with a department or within a workshop. If that changes, those who receive the newsletter will be the first to know, so be sure to sign up here
Someone who is looking for the "magic bullet" of health & performance. Although 1:1 coaching is an amazing tool to improve efficiency and help you reach your goals faster, it's not magic. You'll still have to do the work.
Successful coaching is based primarily on communication between not only coaches to their clients, but clients to their coaches. If having regular contact and providing thoughts/feedback on how training and habits are going don't sound helpful to you, 1:1 coaching is not likely for you.
Through our partnership with Truemed, you may be eligible to use pre-tax dollars to pay for your membership.
